A short story about us
Founded in 2022 by Ana Mejia — a certified chef, ServSafe Instructor and Proctor, and FDA-trained compliance professional — Catharsis was born from lived experience.
As the founder of Mena's Boys, an FDA-recognized food manufacturing business, Ana experienced firsthand the administrative burden that pulls food entrepreneurs away from their passion. Navigating FDA registration, compliance documentation, and regulatory requirements while running a production operation showed her exactly what food business owners need — and what the industry was missing.
What began as support for nonprofits and culinary consultants quickly became something more focused: a full-service firm dedicated exclusively to helping food businesses operate safely, legally, and confidently — in English and in Spanish.
